The rubber duck method is in fact a very clever method to invoke one’s intuition, or “higher mind” if you will. It is a much milder yet safer and effective way to find truth from “within” than sniffing funny substances and ingesting poisonous fungi… but the way it works is similar. Difference being that upon loss of “ego” it may seem that the information barriers are broken down as well and one might be able to access more info that is supposed to be “none of your business”.
But even without glitching out to another identity, the interesting about intuition is that it does not necessarily tell you what you already know, but it might also tell you what you would have/should have known. I am reminded of equity’s maxim: Equity looks on as done that which ought to have been done.
And yes sometimes you don’t consciously know what you should have known. That’s where the rubber duck helps, and this aligns with the conventional explanation as well. Of course the conventional explanation doesn’t explain why it is so effective…
